This is not Speer Gold Dot 9mm 135 grain JHP ammunition. This is Speer Lawman 135 grain TMJ ammunition. It is range ammo, though it is designed to perform as closely to the defense ammo as possible (excluding terminal ballistics, of course). Very handy if Speer product no. 24260 is your carry ammo of choice!

Don’t care about Gold Dot ammo? Then you’ll still love gunning down bullseyes with this ammo. Its total metal jacket projectiles do have lead cores, just like the more common FMJ alternative. But unlike an FMJ, the TMJ’s core is totally sealed off by copper jacket. The boiling heat of ignition therefore can’t put any lead from the TMJ’s core inside your lungs or your barrel.

This cartridge’s bullet is an unusual weight for a reason. At 135 grains, it’s just heavy enough to reliably attain subsonic muzzle velocity in conjunction with a 4” handgun barrel.
