Winchester has loaded their Ranger line of ammunition for law enforcement professionals since 1866. Fortunately, “we don’t need no stinking badges” to fire this 45 ACP +P ammo at the pistol range!
This cartridge is designed to make target shooting significantly safer. Its frangible bullet is made of compressed copper and tin powder. When it hits any surface harder than itself – like a steel target or concrete wall, for example – it instantly disintegrates. Compare that kind of performance to an FMJ, which poses a significant chance of causing a ricochet that will jeopardize whomever is standing at the firing line.
This round’s bullet contains no lead. It leaves a barrel much cleaner as the result, but a frangible bullet will also fail to emit toxic gas while hot propellant gasses cook its base. Winchester makes this round perform even more cleanly courtesy of its special primer which contains no heavy metals. If you’re training indoors, this ammo will spare you from inhaling a lot of unhealthy emissions!
This ammo’s cases are Winchester’s usual high-quality brass, and are fully reloadable. Please note that this is overpressure ammo and should only be used with firearms that are rated for +P.
