Can’t decide which 5.56x45mm target ammunition to buy? Go with the brand that countless American marksmen rely on daily: Winchester USA, which is produced at the same factory that makes the largest percentage of our Armed Forces’ small arms ammo.
That’s right! This ammo hails from Independence, Missouri’s Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Its brass cases are headstamped accordingly. Those same cases may look a little discolored around their necks and shoulders, but that is not evidence that this ammo is reloaded. Lake City doesn’t pretty up their cases by polishing them, partly because they want it to be obvious that they were heat treated th right way.
“M193” basically means that this ammo is loaded with the most common 5.56 bullets there are. The 55 grain FMJ won’t do anything that you’ll find surprising if you already know your way around an AR-15, and they cannot attract a magnet. Noncorrosive primers, too!
