Winchester, a division of the Olin company, has operated since 1855 when it began producing firearms and ammunition as the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Today, the company licenses the manufacture of its venerable designs to FN and Browning while continuing to develop some of the world’s top ammunition loads. In 2011, the Federal Bureau of Investigation selected the company’s PDX1 rounds as the latest of many cartridges to become the “FBI load.” The company’s products also see significant use with local law enforcement agencies and the Border Patrol.
