The exposed lead nose is tapered to match the bullet's ogive for slick drag-resistance in flight and is intended to initiate expansion upon impact with a game animal. During entry into a target, the bullet's mushroom-shaped increase in diameter will cause tumbling that creates a large, free-bleeding wound. As the bullet slows, it delivers all of its energy to vital zones in order to drop a boar or whitetail deer in its tracks with little chance for over-penetration. Brown Bear ammunition is sourced from the Barnaul plant in Russia which has over seven decades of experience in wartime supply. This allows them to manufacture high quality ammo at very reasonable prices.
