A dedicated performance round for use in a suppressed firearm or for those who prefer subsonic ammunition for their 9mm’s. MagTech is always making interesting things and bringing solid innovations to market. While the 9mm subsonic is not an innovation, per se, there are few who will tread into the interesting pathways that MagTech will when it comes to ammunition production. This is a 147 grain hollow point that uses a minor powder charge and some basic engineering to bring the projectile down to a subsonic level with the expectation that it would sell based on the numbers of suppressor owners who want ammo for their new suppressors.
Not only has it been a working model for MagTech, they continue to innovate based on small successes like this. That’s a good quality to have in a manufacturer more often than not. MagTech’s subsonic 9mm offers a velocity of 990 fps and an energy rating of 320 ft. lbs,. of energy. The reloadable brass cartridge and boxer primer make it easy to save brass, but their price for specialty rounds like these is what is the biggest factor in the decision of whether to buy MagTech or not. If you need suppressor specific 9mm, this is a great round at a very good price.

I tested this ammo in a denim/gel test. It performed very well. 9 out of 100 did not expand completely. 50 HP round in 147gr with than performance is a bargain. Checking here often but they never have it again. (Posted on 1/6/15)
