This is 5.56x45 M855 ammunition.
Its full metal jacket bullets’ noses are not painted green.
Even so, those FMJs’ jackets conceal 7 grain steel penetrator tips.
As such, the FMJs are guaranteed to attract a magnet.
Do not choose this ammo for a gun range that prohibits magnetic ammo.

Winchester makes tons of ammo for the commercial market (and “tons” is an understatement). Winchester also accept contracts to export military ammunition to foreign buyers. A lot of AR-15 and other 5.56 rifle fans prefer M855 ammunition not for its bullets’ enhanced penetrative capabilities, but for its bullets’ greater mass. That extra 7 grains over the M193 55 grain FMJ helps the M855 bullet hug a more wind resistant trajectory, as well as conserve a higher percentage of its velocity as it streaks downrange. Definitely a good choice if you’re reaching out a little farther than you would at the plinking gallery!
