Sellier & Bellot has started to move beyond their ordinary sweet spot of providing classic military loads in a modern, premium variety. That isn’t to say they don’t still offer some of the best variants of such ammunition in the world, but they are starting to get a bit more innovative and picking their calibers and products very carefully to include important rounds in the general landscape of shooting.
This 6.8SPC is a good example of that philosophy. S&B has begun to offer a very specific loadout for this 6.8 SPC round that offers great ballistics and flat trajectories for the caliber. The premium build quality of this round is evident in several ways.
The super-premium brass casings are reloadable thanks to the Boxer priming and the durable manufacturing. Loaded in the casing is a 110 grain polymer tipped Spitzer bullet that offers great accuracy making this round easily capable of 1-1.5 MOA across the effective range of the round. The substantial energy of the 6.8SPC is impressive, and this cartridge for the money offers a lot of value for those wishing to tap into that energy. This cartridge achieves 1580 pound feet of energy at the muzzle and 2549 feet per second of velocity at the muzzle.
